NVIDIA RTX Spark laptops will be available on Friday, Oct. 16, following an announcement with Microsoft. The company detailed a wave of software updates and optimizations from partners ahead of that launch, covering local AI agents, creative apps, and developer tools.
Local AI Agents and Models
Several agent apps, including GitHub Copilot, Hermes, OpenClaw, Perplexity, Pi, and WorkBuddy, now streamline setup on RTX Spark. They integrate with OpenShell and Microsoft Execution Containers (MXC) for security, and support hybrid routing between local and cloud models. NVIDIA Switchyard, an open source model router library, lets agents intelligently route queries to minimize cloud usage while maintaining results. Hermes will add Switchyard later in October, while Perplexity Computer and GitHub Copilot have their own routing solutions.
On Thursday, Oct. 15, NVIDIA releases Nemotron 3.5 Bolt 74B, a 74B parameter mixture-of-experts model with 9B active parameters, packed into 24GB using 2-bit quantization. It runs via llama.cpp, vLLM, Ollama, Unsloth, and LM Studio, and is accessible through Hermes and OpenClaw. The model is fully open source, including training data, weights, and recipes.
NVIDIA PAIR, a personal AI router, moves out of beta on Oct. 13. The open source tool discovers compatible PCs on a local network, installs models and inference engines, and distributes workloads. The release adds llama.cpp support, direct Hugging Face downloads, customizable inference engine settings, and RTX Spark support. It works on Windows, Linux, and macOS.
Creative App Optimizations
Adobe is optimizing Photoshop, Premiere, and Substance 3D for RTX Spark, with up to 2x faster AI, editing, color, and effects. Photoshop gets GPU-accelerated compositing, improvements to the Remove Tool, and effects like Light Leaks. Premiere accelerates playback, rendering, color grading, and AI features such as Enhance Speech and Object Mask. Substance 3D Painter speeds up texture baking and project handling. AI feature optimizations for Photoshop and Premiere are in beta now, with Substance 3D updates coming soon.
NVIDIA Broadcast 2.3 is available now, running natively on RTX Spark. It adds RTX Video Super Resolution, Video Frame Generation, Studio Voice profiles, and an Offline File Processor for applying effects to prerecorded content. A new MCP server and skill let local AI agents control effects and process files through the app.
ComfyUI now includes RTX Video Frame Generation and RTX Video HDR nodes, plus EXR export. Frame Generation increases frame rates on GeForce RTX 40 Series and newer, while HDR converts SDR footage to HDR. Creators can combine these with RTX Video Super Resolution in a single workflow, for example turning a 1080p 30fps SDR clip into a 60fps HDR video with EXR output.
Blender 5.3 beta adds RTX Spark compatibility. In November, Blender will add DLSS Ray Reconstruction for real-time viewport updates.
Developer Tools and Games
PyTorch, Python, and CUDA libraries are ready for RTX Spark. The first PyTorch-CUDA build for Windows on Arm, the first native Python build for Windows on Arm with Python 3.15, and the first native Conda installer for Windows on Arm with over 2,000 packages are available. 97% of the top 15,000 Python wheels are ready, with work continuing on the rest.
GitHub Copilot, Pi, and other coding agents are optimized for RTX Spark. The new Windows Developer Config installs top developer tools, and Windows Subsystem for Linux provides access to the same packages used for cloud deployment.
For gaming, DLSS 5 arrives Friday, Oct. 16, with a 2x faster AI model and a new Performance Mode for DLSS Frame Generation available now via the NVIDIA App beta. Nemotron 3.5 Bolt E4B 4GB, a small language model for NVIDIA ACE game characters, releases Friday, Oct. 23. RTX Remix updates, including DLSS 5 support, also arrive Oct. 23.
