Ollama announced on August 31, 2026 that its Pro, Max, and Team plans now use transparent per-token pricing. Each plan includes a monthly pool of usage credits that refreshes on the same day the plan started, including annual plans. Usage is consumed per token at rates published on Ollama's pricing page and on each model's page.

The new plans are Pro at $20 per month with $60 of included monthly usage, Max at $100 per month with $300 of included monthly usage, and Team at $500 per month with $1,000 of shared monthly usage for unlimited users. The free plan now includes a small amount of monthly usage for a set of starter models, and users can add usage credits to access all models with pay-as-you-go pricing.

No hidden fees or limits

Ollama states the new pricing has no service fees and no 5-hour or weekly limits. When a plan's monthly pool is used up, users can continue at the same per-token rate. Every request runs on dedicated compute in the US and Europe with zero data retention, and Ollama says it does not log prompts or train on user data. Each request's cost is visible in the user's account.

The Team plan is now available for signup with introductory pricing of $500 per month. It includes $1,000 of shared included monthly usage at published per-token rates, one pool of usage credits shared across the organization with no per-seat limits, and unlimited users with centralized usage viewing.

Legacy plans and switching

Existing Pro, Max, or Team subscribers can remain on their current plan and upgrade to the new pricing anytime in account settings. All new signups start on the new plans. Changing the billing cycle, such as from monthly to annual, results in an upgrade to the new pricing model. Subscribers who had an active subscription at the time of the pricing launch can request conversion back to their original plan through support, using the same billing cycle and tier.

Legacy Pro and Max plans remain supported as long as subscribers continue to auto-renew. Changing the billing cycle, subscription tier, or canceling and re-subscribing later converts the account to the new pricing. Switching from an existing Pro or Max plan to the new one resets usage: the new plan's full monthly amount is available immediately, and the old session and weekly limits no longer apply. The monthly reset date stays on the subscription's original start date.

Unused included usage does not roll over to the next month; the included amount refreshes at each monthly reset. Ollama explains the change by citing feedback that GPU-time based billing was difficult to predict, especially as open models have grown much larger, such as Kimi K3 with 2.8 trillion parameters. Usage is now based on industry-standard token pricing.
